    I just registered for a 5k run.

    I can’t run 5k.

    I can’t even run 2k.

    Or 1k.

What the hell was I thinking?

Oh yes, that I get to dress up in a gorilla suit with my hubby and raise money for Silverbacks. I mean, that’s pretty awesome. Anytime there is an opportunity to dress up like a goof, I’m in. I mean, have you seen my most recent passport photo? I look like I’m getting arrested for hanging out with Lindsay Lohan. A gorilla suit has nothing on me.

Running 5k, however… that’s got something on me. I’d better get cracking. I have 95 days including today and race day. I can do this.

Hmmm… 95 days? Really? In that case, pass another slice of cake. Plenty of time….

    • Jean, you are a brave brave person. Good luck with it, and most of all have fun. It’s for a good cause and just think, you never know when you’ll be able to use this in a story. :)

    • You’re crazy girl!!! But I know you’ll totally be able to do it! I’ve had a soft spot for the silverbacks ever since I read Virunga – Farley Mowat’s tale of Dian Fossey’s life using her diary – great book if you haven’t read it!

    • TK, bravery and stupidity are closely related in my family…. But yes, definitely good fodder for a story, I’m sure! That’s what I love about life and adventures, you never know when it’s going to end up in a story!

    • I haven’t read that book, Jemi. I’ll have to check it out. And here I’d thought I’d read all of Mowat! (I guess just all the one’s my grandma keeps around.) Thanks for the encouragement!
