  • Summer’s Here! Let’s Read!

Posted on July 1st, 2010 jean 7 comments

That’s right. Summer’s here. Holidays. Sunblock. Girly drinks. Floppy hats. Bathing suits. Shorts. Flip flops. And black vinyl seats that sear your buttocks.

That’s right. We made it to summer once again.

It’s time to make a dent in those To Be Read (TBR) piles you’ve got lying around your house. If you don’t have a TBR pile, let me help you out. This week–I know it is Thursday already, but it’s summer and the days of the week don’t really matter anymore–I’ll be posting reviews on my blog for a few books I’ve recently read. So keep checking back, I’ve read some good ones!

Any summer must-reads you want to share with others? Pop the title (and author if you know it) in the comment section and help us grow our TBR piles.

    • I’ve got a few books on my TBR pile that I won in different blog contests. I just finished Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater (sp??) – totally didn’t know it was a werewolf story. Not normally my thing, but she did it well. I liked her take on the werewolf lore.

Next up is Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins. Looks like fun too.

    • I have a nice little pile of books to read, but I think I’m slipping back to my favorites for the summer. I miss them. I’ll try to read the others in the fall, though.

      I love summer vacation… :)

    • Jemi, I think your TBR pile has already been taken care of! You’ve been cleaning up in those blog book contests. Good job, gal!

    • It is tempting to go back to the favorites, isn’t it, TK? Which ones are a for-sure for the summer?

    • Jean, I’m leaning toward Anna Karenina and possibly Dead Souls. To some they may be heavy and long but to me they’re nearly perfect. I do love the writing. It keeps drawing me back to them.

    • Hey, whatever floats your boat, right? I’ve heard Anna Karenina is an amazing story. I wouldn’t mind picking that one up actually.
