  • Hot Projects vs. Not So Hot

Posted on June 23rd, 2009 jean 4 comments

Rachelle Gardner over at Wordserve Literary talks about ‘hot’ projects/manuscripts and ones that might be good or great and what happens to them when they come across her desk. If nothing else, it may help writers understand a bit about what happens with their projects and why some get scooped up and sold on a dime while others sit around for up to a year before getting a ‘yes’.

If nothing else, Rachelle’s two posts might give you an ‘aaaahhhh’ moment.

    • Pretty good post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say
that I have really enjoyed reading your posts. Anyway
I’ll be subscribing to your blog and I hope you write again soon!

    • That was quite informative, though it doesn’t help to know that you may have a great book, but because everything doesn’t line up properly, it won’t get picked up. Obviously, they’ll only take on what they think will sell, but it’s still sad that if a genre is flooded, your chances are slim even if you’ve writen an amazing book.

    • I found it a bit discouraging in that it is like trend following instead of building a solid list of people who aren’t a flash in the pan, but want to write something with a bit of longevity. :)

    • Thanks April! Feel free to comment anytime.
